yep, Bale and Nolan said these are real versions of Batman. A teenager side kick is too much fantasy.
Question - Seen it three times and still can't figure it out.
When Batman and Gordon are talking at the very end Gordon mentions the "5 bodies, 2 of the cops" when talking about want Dent/Two-Face had done. I know he killed Wuertz and Maroni's driver. Let's just say by chance Maroni died in the wreck. He didn't kill Ramirez since she won the coin toss. There's three bodies, one of them being a cop.
So who were the other two?

he doesn't care for the Riddler, the Penguin, or Robin. So don't look for any of those characters..i was pretty sure Mr. Reece would have been the Riddler though.
Rumors already flying Adrien Brody will be a villain in the next movie..
And I've saw it twice, and I cannot figure out an explanation for that either. I at first thought they were just deaths we didn't see that we would find out in the next movie, but it would be easier just to blame the Joker.
And that is my other point. Why can't they just blame the Joker, that way Dent nor Batman take the fall.

Maybe Batman is just too noble for that. I don't see why they didn't just decide not to blame anyone. I'm sure in all the chaos going on that a few unsolved murders wouldn't be uncommon for Gotham.
The female cop that lived also knows the truth.
She saw what Dent had become and knew it was 50/50 if he killed her or not....

Nolan is a master manipulator, he says he doesn't like certain characters but he isn't being honest. He's just playing with the fan base. Gary Oldman already said that we'd probably have the Riddler for the 3rd film, in an interview with Nolan sitting right beside him. So yes, Riddler will probably be in that film. Though honestly, the 3-movie plan crafted by Nolan and Goyer was to bring the Joker back for the 3rd film for an "extended" cameo. Sort of like Hannibal Lector type in Arkham Asylum. The early reports when Ledger signed was that he signed for two films.
I don't think you will see Two-Face as the villain in the 3rd film. His story arc was The Dark Knight, and it was done beautifully. They leave it open to where he can possibly make a cameo, or be in future films. This is the thing with Nolan's Bat World...none of the villains have "officially" died unlike other franchises. Leaves things wide open. The next Batman could go in ANY direction they want, which is great because Nolan has a long time to make it the best movie possible. I would gladly wait another 3 years for that.
